Brian Hayward is an agent of the Centipede Group, and also an user of the Centipede Device.
Biography
Hayward was a former soldier of the US Army who served three years in Afghanistan and fell off the radar upon his return.
At some point, Hayward was recruited into the mysterious organization known only as the Centipede Group, where he was equipped with the Centipede Device and a Backscatter X-Ray Eye Implant.
Hayward participated in the prison break of Edison Po from the Havenworth Federal Penitentiary.
He took part in an ambush on the S.H.I.E.L.D. team led by Phil Coulson in Oakland, California. Coulson shot him with the Night-Night Pistol to no effect.
He was killed by Raina upon his capture by S.H.I.E.L.D. and the activation of his Backscatter implant's kill-switch.[1]
