The Theta Protocol Facility is a classified facility where Phil Coulson kept the operation of Theta Protocol, in this case, repairing Helicarrier No. 64.

History[]

When the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended, the Helicarrier No. 64 was retrieved by loyal S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and placed in the facility to undergo maintenance and damage repair. Under guise of recruiting S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, director Phil Coulson made occasional visits to the facility in order to check the status of the Helicarrier.

On one of those visits Coulson disguised his visit as an attempt to recruit former agents in London. He met with Sam Koenig, who had been living there supervising the facility and playing online video games with his brother; they discussed Jemma Simmons' infiltration in HYDRA, Skye's training with Melinda May, Antoine Triplett's full-time job in S.H.I.E.L.D, the new recruits Isabelle Hartley and Lance Hunter, Robert Gonzales' status, and Leo Fitz' mental progress. Before entering the area of the facility where the Helicarrier was held, Sam Koenig gave Director Coulson his new lanyard for the Theta Protocol. As they entered Coulson looked around, contemplating the Helicarrier.[1]

The Helicarrier was completely repaired and used in the Battle of Sokovia by Nick Fury, and operated by loyal S.H.I.E.L.D. agents such as Cameron Klein, in order to rescue civilians.[2]

Coulson relinquished the lanyard to the facility to Robert Gonzales as they watched news footage of the evacuation.[1]
